Tim S. Rath

President

Tim Rath has more than 22 years of mortgage-banking experience. At Bell, he focuses on hedging the interest-rate risk for the company. Rath also maintains Bell's technology, specifically concentrating on the company's innovative and proprietary software that employees use for everything from online loan applications to closing documents. "We're one of the only companies with the infrastructure that creates a cradle-to- grave solution for mortgage lending."

Rath joined Bell in 1997, looking for an alternative to the slower-moving culture at larger mortgage companies. Rath was drawn to Bell's ability to be nimble and move with changes in the industry. Rath also filled a specific need of Bell's owner, Gary Kirt, who found Rath's expertise in secondary marketing a necessary asset to the company.

Rath started his mortgage-banking career in 1978 as Loan Officer at Metropolitan Federal Bank. He later moved on in the company to serve as Branch Manager and then, Director of Secondary Markets. In 1991, Rath was named Owner and Executive Vice President of Mortgage Capital Corporation. Before his move to Bell, Rath worked at Residential Funding Corporation as a consultant for the technology division establishing client loan orientation systems.

After more than 23 years in the mortgage industry, Rath says Bell is where he'd like to hang his hat. "I think this is my last stop. The opportunities here and Gary's commitment to employees would be hard to beat elsewhere."

Rath is married and has three children. He enjoys fishing, hunting, camping and just about any outdoor activity he tries his hand at. Rath calls Apple Valley home.
