Tom J. Joslyn

Chief Operations Officer

Tom Joslyn has been in the mortgage-banking industry for 23 years. At Bell, Joslyn is in charge of operations, which includes loan processing, underwriting, closing and post closing. "Basically I help oversee everything after the loan officer takes the application."

Joslyn decided to bring his experience to Bell in November of 2001. "It's so much fun to be part of a smaller organization. We're more nimble, more able to respond to changes in the market."

Joslyn says the lack of red tape at Bell is also refreshing. "At past companies I'd have to bring my ideas to several heads. Here, I just bring my proposal straight to the top. Things at Bell aren't mired down in politics. We have a can do attitude here." People empowered with great technology. It's another attribute Joslyn says makes Bell appealing. "There aren't many mortgage companies that have the technologies and efficiencies we have. Everyone in this industry is searching for the Holy Grail. We're not there yet, but it is within our grasp."

Joslyn started his real estate career nearly 25 years ago as a licensed real estate agent in the Twin Cities. During that time, he also assisted in the preparation of real estate appraisals at a local appraisal firm. Joslyn then joined First National Bank of Minneapolis, working in different capacities including the role of a Residential Real Estate Loan Officer for nearly five years. Joslyn went on to manage the St. Paul branch of FSB Mortgage Corporation and later added the Minneapolis branch to his oversight. In 1995, Joslyn was named Vice President and Midwest Retail Manager of BankAmerica Mortgage. Preceding his move to Bell Mortgage, Joslyn served six years as Vice President and National Mortgage Manager of the Private Client Division at US Bank.

Joslyn lives in Anoka and enjoys boating, snowmobiling and, as he says, "just about anything with an internal combustion engine." He is married and has two daughters.
